Salons across America are silent during this virus quarantine. And many Americans are wondering what to do with their growing locks.
I had that question myself a couple of weeks ago. Not for me since I have been trying to grow my hair out for awhile. It was for my guys.
Two of my guys, Micky and Andrew, have had their hair cut by me for years. They still want me to grab my haircutting razor and style their hair.
The other two, Carter and Chris, are a bit more picky about their hair. They started going to Great Clips about a year ago because they wanted more style to their hair. My razor cut for them just wasn’t cutting it. (pun intended)
So I had to study and go to the school of YouTube and watch many videos on how to cut hair for teens and young men. (Thank God for YouTube!!) I even headed out to Walmart to get actual hair cutting shears. Which are very sharp by the way.
So here are 6 of the videos I watched to not only style my own hair, but how to cut hair too.
Patry Jordan English – How to Cut Short Hair: She gives very easy to follow directions and the video is well done. This is a good video for guys who may be home alone.
Patry Jordan English – Haircut for men step by step tutorial: Is your man getting a bit shaggy? Patry has another excellent video with fantastic step-by-step instructions.
Hair 101 with April – How to Cut Hair! Surviving your first haircut during quarantine!: Got some boys around the house that could use a trim? This is a great video from hairdresser/mom April on how to cut your little guy’s hair.
Brad Mondo – Hairdressers Guide to Cutting Your Own Hair Without Ruining It: Have some ends that need some shaping up? Do you need to get some life into your hair? Brad has some fantastic tips on how to do this.
TheSalonGuy- How to Cut your Own Bangs: Who knew all the things you have to think about when cutting your bangs? There are some fabulous tips in this video that will help when you HAVE to get those bangs trimmed up.
Dominique Sachse – How to Blow Out Side Swept Bangs: Cannot bring yourself to cutting those bangs? Then let Dominique help you tame those bangs. If you are women 40+ I highly recommend her channel.
The videos above, for the most part, are for boys and men (because that is who lives with me). There are many, many more videos out there for the girls and ladies of the home too. You have to do a little research on YouTube for those videos.
YouTube is a fantastic place to learn how to do ANYTHING. If you need advice on cutting hair, styling hair, or even changing the oil in your car, there is a video out there on YouTube. Take a peek and see if there is a video that fits for either you or your crew at home.
