We are coming to the end of a crazy school year. I have been receiving emails from High School teachers mentioning this is the last week of assignments. Whoo-Hoo!!
I am also sending out emails to my students saying that this is the last major assignment they will have to do for me. The next couple of weeks will be spent sending out emails to students missing any assignments for me and finalizing my grade book.
Looking at my grade book, I think these past couple of months have been fairly successful. All in all I only had 15 students out of 112 that did not turn in a single assignment. Under the current circumstances, that is a win in my book!
When this school year is over, I am hoping our administration will go through what worked and what didn’t work during this quarantine. I am anticipating that there will be steps in place in the event of a school closure.
I pray we can go back to school on time. As of right now, our numbers of COVID-19 cases are still low. That could totally flip this summer.
The bad part about this is that no one really knows what is going to happen. Maybe with the warmer weather and more people spending time outdoors instead of close quarters in their homes and apartments, it may dissipate.
The real problem lies this Fall/Winter when we are back inside again and COID-19 will surface along with flu season. Time will tell…
I am looking forward to a summer of relaxing and enjoying what God has blessed us with. Hopefully, we will be able to visit with friends and family and hosting them here too. I also plan on getting ready for the next school year with the new classes I have to prepare for and tweaking the classes I have had for a while.
Until then, I will be enjoying my outdoor classroom and helping my students end on a great note in spite of our situation. I will post a final note about the school year around our last day of school next month.
