How to Use Schoology

I am NOT being paid to promote schoology.com. I am a teacher that uses the FREE version of their website.

Schoology.com is a website learning management system. It is a way for teachers and students can upload, complete, and return assignments. Tests and quizzes can also be made at this website as well.

Today I am going to help you get set up and create your first course. Also, I will show you how to add and unenroll students in your courses. If you have any other questions, you can go to their Help Center HERE.

Sign up as an instructor.

Go to My Courses under the Courses tab.

Create a Course.

Time to add an assignment.

Choose the type of Assignment or Materials you want to share with the students.

When adding an assignment, you can put in all of the instructions, upload pdf files, and website links into this section.

You have numerous options to choose from when creating the assignment. Just hover over the sections or buttons and it will tell you what it means.

When creating a test/quiz you have to put in place the options for the test/quiz.

Once that is created, you can choose what type of questions to use in the test/quiz. When students take the test/quiz they have to Review Answers and then Submit answers before it is graded. **Note: When creating a Fill in the Blank test/quiz, Schoology grades what YOU put in for the answer. Any deviation from your answer will be counted wrong. But you can review and override the answers once it has been submitted.

To change passwords for students go to the Members section on the left side of your screen.

On the right side of the student’s name is a gear icon to click on. There you will find options for that student to change passwords. You can also Unenroll the students once they leave your course.

Students will join your class with a special code that is on the left side of your screen. I usually put this up on the screen with a projector or write it on the whiteboard.

If you have any questions about Schoology, please comment below and I will try to answer them the best that I can.
