I was standing in front of my class talking to my 7th-grade students about their family slide for their presentation about themselves. It was at that moment I realized that my husband and I were in the minority. The traditional family of one mother and one father for a child’s entire life has changed drastically. This Lent, I felt a need to help anyone who is struggling in their marriage or for those couples who just need a little boost to help them continue on their journey together.
I have been extremely blessed to have found my best friend and soulmate at an early age. Has everything been sunshine, rainbows, and unicorns? Of course, not. But, we, as a team, have been able to weather the storms life has thrown at us and celebrate our successes. I hope that you can have the same type of marriage we have.
Disclaimer
Let’s get this out of the way. I am not a psychologist, marriage counselor, or anything even coming close to those professions. I am a wife, mother, and teacher who wants to help others by telling my stories and experiences. Maybe our stories can help couples who are searching for suggestions or ideas. This series is for those who are in healthy marriages and need support. If you are struggling in your marriage, please seek help from a professional counselor or clergy member in your area to help.
Tammy,
Are you going to post an article every day for Lent? I’m really anxious to read your topics.
Love,
Your former neighbor
That is my hope. I want to write every day about different topics in marriage. As of right now, I am stuck at 20 topics, so we will see if I can push myself to do this every day. Love, Tammy
